Readers pick writers they already read, and Postpile turns their recent free posts into a personal magazine.
What you earn
You’re paid a flat rate each time a piece of yours appears in a paying reader’s copy: 20¢ per print appearance, and 10¢ per digital appearance. A piece that lands in 50 paying readers’ printed copies earns $10.
A piece read by the same reader in print and digital counts once, at the print rate.
Copies nobody pays for earn nothing: a new reader’s two free trial issues, copies we give to friends, and our own copies.
Every writer gets the same rate. Rates are set six months at a time, and the first window runs through December 31, 2026.
You get a statement each month you earn anything. Once you’ve earned $25 we pay you within 30 days after that month ends, and we pay smaller balances every quarter.
How big this is
We’re new. Early on, this is small money. What it adds up to now is a link to subscribe to your newsletter in every issue you’re in.
What it costs you
Nothing, and no ongoing work. You sign up once.
What we never do
- Edit your words.
- Post your work on the open web.
- Sell your pieces on their own.
- License them to anyone else.
- Use them to train AI.
We only use free posts, never paywalled ones.
How you get paid
No bank details now. The first time you earn, we email you a Stripe link. It takes about five minutes.
